Wright Medical, in which Warburg Pincus acquired a majority holding this year, has reached an agreement to merge with fellow orthopaedics company Cremascoli Ortho. Cremascoli Ortho was funded with $39 million in 1997 by Hambro European Ventures. Wright, based in Arlington, Tennessee, is the world's leading manufacturer of foot and hand implants. It also produces knee and hip joints and bone graft materials. Cremascoli Ortho has R&D facilities in Milan, Italy and manufactures in Toulon, France.
