Akzo Nobel subsidiary Horus has told BioTime, manufacturer of Hextend and other blood plasma volume expanders, that it no longer wants to distribute Hextend or other products. Horus told the Berkeley, California-based company that it would not finalise a previous exclusive licence agreement signed in February.
