The King Abdul Aziz Medical City in Riyadh has opened an emergency medical centre at a cost of SR40 million ($10.6 million). Built to international standards, the centre will house 15 beds, 25 adult and 25 child examination rooms, together with X-ray facilities, pharmacies, lecture halls and an observation ward. One consultant, eight specialist doctors and support staff will oversee the running of the unit, reports the Saudi Gazette. The King Abdul Aziz Medical City was opened in March this year and already operates cardiology, cardio-surgery and liver transplant centres.
