UK cardiovascular services get $110 million

Defibrillators, MRI scanners, specialist testing laboratories, accident & emergency equipment and cardiac rehabilitation facilities are highlighted as being among the areas earmarked in the UK to receive £110 million ($156 million) investment to tackle heart disease and stroke. The money, being provided under the New Opportunities Fund, will be used to help meet the targets set out in the National Service Framework for these diseases. These include a 40% reduction in mortality among the under-75s. .
