Biopharmaceutical and drug delivery company Elan (Dublin, Ireland) has named Thomas Lynch as executive vice-chairman and Shane Cooke as executive vice-president and chief financial officer. Mr Lynch, who joined the company in 1998 and will work on long-term strategic planning, is credited with having had a significant role in elevating Elan to the status of a world leader in its field.
