NBOG (Notified Bodies Operations Group) failure would reignite Euro MDA (Medical Devices Agency) talks:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Strong support was expressed by delegates at the UK Medical Devices Agency's (MDA) update meeting on June 27 for the Notified Bodies Operations Group. If it fails in its objective of improving the monitoring and performance of notified bodies, some fear there would be renewed pressure for a European medical devices agency or a type of European FDA to police standards. The MDA is confident that it has the support of the other EU competent authorities driving the group forward, although it recognises that there is a fundamental resource problem in some countries which will need addressing.
