Executive Summary

Hitachi Medical is to begin clinical trials in Japan of its new gastrointestinal diagnostic imaging system that incorporates an amorphous silicon flat panel digital radiography unit, made by Varian Medical Systems. Varian, of Salt Lake City, Utah, claims that its PaxScan 4030A is the first product of its kind large enough and fast enough for clinical applications that require instantaneous imaging of large areas.
