Executive Summary
Fonar has received 510(k) clearance from the US FDA to market its Pinnacle MRI scanner. The scanner combines Fonar's four-post, Open system with a cryogenless, 0.6 Tesla superconducting magnet. The company already markets the Quad 12000, an open MRI system with a 0.6 Tesla permanent magnet. The Melville, New York company says it does not expect to start marketing the Pinnacle system until it has completed facilities for manufacturing and testing the superconducting magnet assemblies.
