MDS Nordion has gained US FDA 510(k) clearance to market its dose modelling, inverse planning software for intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). The software runs on a desktop workstation using a Windows 2000 operating system and communicates with compatible external beam radiation treatment planning systems using DICOM RT objects, says the Kanata, Ontario firm.
