CryoLife has CE-marked for sale in Europe its second tissue-engineered heart valve. The SynerGraft model 700 pulmonary heart valve involves the use of a porcine pulmonary heart valve that has been depopulated of its own cells, providing a collagen matrix that can be colonised with the recipient's own cells. The Atlanta, Georgia firm gained European marketing clearance for its SynerGraft model 500 aortic valve last year.
