Executive Summary
Heart patients in Dresden will now be able to deliver the results of an electrocardiogram via telephone to the city's ambulatory heart centre. The information can then be used to determine the likelihood of a heart attack to decide if early treatment should be carried out. The "cardiophone", provided by IMA Service, stores results from a 12-channel ECG and costs around DM250 ($113) for a month's use. The majority of statutory health insurers have agreed to reimburse the product as a medical aid.
