Huddinge University Hospital is to ignore the recommendations of the Swedish National Board of health and Welfare (SOS) and go ahead with its plan to establish a heart transplant centre. In a letter to SOS, the hospital claimed that its thorax, cardiology and transplantation surgery clinics would work together to establish a centre with experienced staff and a proper patient monitoring system.
