Executive Summary
Denmark's doctors' association (Laegeforeningen) and Ethics Committee have called on the government to provide clearer rules on the transplantation of tissue from individuals who have been declared "brain dead". Due to medical advances, tendons, sinews and tissue can be frozen for longer and the associations believe that this warrants a new set of rules. They do, however, point out that it will still be unnecessary to gain the approval of donors and relatives.
