Executive Summary
The New Zealand government has launched a public consultation as part of a review of the Health Act 1956. This, it says, is "out of date and does not effectively address health issues of importance today". With a view to replacing it with a new Public Health Bill, the health ministry has issued a discussion paper covering issues such as screening, notification, public health promotion and information and immunisation. The closing date for submissions is March 28 2003.
