Professor Nadey Hakim has been named president-elect of the International College of Surgeons. The designation was made at the organisation's 23rd world congress in Taipei, Taiwan last month. The college was founded in 1935 to bring together surgeons worldwide and promote surgical excellence. It has some 100 member countries. More on ICS at www.icsglobal.org
