Executive Summary
With medical insurance becoming mandatory in Saudi Arabia by the end of 2002, the demand for high quality medical products is likely to increase dramatically. This was the conclusion of a survey carried out by a 23-man trade delegation from Taiwan to Saudia Arabia earlier this month, organised by the China External Trade Development Council (CETRA). Ben Chen, head of the delegation, said that the demand included laboratory and surgical equipment. This was the second such trade representation by the Taiwanese in Saudi Arabia in the space of a fortnight, reported the Arab News.
