Integrated Surgical Systems has reported that it has moved its ROBODOC surgical assistant system a step closer to the Japanese market, after its distributor in Japan, Ktec and ISS filed the product with the country's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. "It is reasonable to expect [approval] within a year," said Dr Ramesh Trivedi, the Davis, California firm's president & CEO. "Japan", he added, "represents the second largest market opportunity for the ROBODOC system."
