Executive Summary
Six Norwegian healthcare institutions are aiming to develop medical three-dimensional imaging and exchange as a teleradiological service over a high-speed, broadband network. The institutions hope to set up a number of pilot projects sponsored by the Norwegian research council via H-YKOM, the programme aimed at providing grants for high-speed communications. The 10 projects will link local radiology services with expert centres in order to offer smaller clinics the same diagnostic possibilities as central hospitals.
