EP event stresses value of mammography

Executive Summary
Some 50% of breast cancer cases could be avoided through the use of mammography, better information and training of multi-disciplinary teams, delegates heard on October 2 in Brussels at a public hearing organised by the Women's Rights Committee of the European Parliament. The hearing coincided with the allocation of E400m ($400m) to breast cancer research under the EU's Sixth Framework Research Programme.
