Executive Summary
The Brazilian healthcare surveillance agency, Anvisa, has issued a draft nephrology and renal replacement therapy service accreditation manual for consultation. The document was produced in conjunction with the national accreditation organisation (ONA), the Brazilian nephrology society (SBN) and the council of state health secretaries (CONASS). It is subject to a 60-day consultation period, from September 11. Anvisa is also planning to revise its manuals for the accreditation of hospitals, clinical analysis laboratories and ionising radiation services (radiodiagnostics, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine). These projects are part of an initiative, led by the ONA, to develop an integrated health services accreditation system.
