Medtronic agreed this week to pay Boston Scientific the $175m which an arbitration panel last year said the Minneapolis company should do for infringing certain Boston stent patents. The award, of $169m plus costs and injunction fees (see Clinica No 967, p 13), was never paid however, and the companies has continued negotiations since then.
