Executive Summary
A US team from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is seeking a commercial partner for a new screening test for systemic lupus erythematosis (SLE) after gaining FDA market clearance for the product. The serum test, called the Anti-SR protein antibody assay, may help doctors pick up the 20% of SLE cases that are missed by current screening methods, claim the Seattle, Washington-based Fred Hutchinson researchers (see Clinica No 921, p 16).
