French ceramic femoral head producer receives compensation demands

Executive Summary
Saint-Gobain Ceramiques Avancees Desmarquest, the manufacturer of the defective zirconium ceramic femoral heads, has received 45 demands for compensation from patients, 20 from patients in Europe and 25 from the US. But this may just be the tip of the iceberg, say the national press, as the French company has manufactured and sold some half a million of these products. Clinica was unable to obtain comment at time of going to press.
