Mexico city's general hospital has opened its new echocardiography and electrophysiology units, following the completion of the first phase of its cardiology services refurbishment programme. Phase two of the Peso 80 million ($8m) programme will comprise three new operating theatres and blood service units, with a capacity of around 300 patients a day. The programme is due to be completed in 2004.
