Cerner is to boost its PACS capabilities by the acquisition of private German PACS software developer Image Devices. The two companies have been partners since 1999, with Frankfurt-based Images supplying Cerner with the image archive component for Cerner ProVision PACS. "Bringing Image Devices into Cerner will help us to improve our electronic medical record capabilities," said Trace Devanny, president of Kansas City, Missouri-based Cerner.
