Executive Summary
As expected, the group purchasing organisation (GPO) Novation has developed new operating principles in response to congressional concerns that small companies have found it difficult to compete for contracts with its member companies. Premier, the second-largest US GPO after Novation, issued a set of principles in early August (see Clinica No 1019, pp 1-2).
