Executive Summary
Investment in German hospitals has fallen steadily in the last decade and must be addressed if healthcare standards are to be maintained, says the German hospitals association (DKG). Between 1991-2001, hospital funding by the federal states fell by 6.95%. In real terms, after accounting for inflation and building costs, this is nearer to 17%, says the DKG.
