Executive Summary
Danish health minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen last week assured MPs that Denmark's increase in radiotherapy procedures was on course to reach levels set in 1998 under the national cancer plan. The government had previously decided that by 2003 the number of procedures should be increased by 65%. Mr Lokke Rasmussen said that between 1997 and 2000 there had been some 30,000 extra radiotherapy procedures, amounting to a 30% increase. However, he added that the 65% level may not be reached until 2005.
