Germany's diagnosis related groups (DRG) system for hospital reimbursement has stuttered once again. Last week the German hospitals association (DKG) declared that it had failed to reach an agreement with the statutory health insurance funds (GKV) and the private health insurance funds (PKV) on several issues relating to the system's introduction on a voluntary basis for hospitals in 2003.
