IntegraGen identifies three obesity genes:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

French genomics company IntegraGen reports that it has used its GenomeHIP (genome hybrid identity profiling) technology to identify the narrow location of three genes linked to the early onset of obesity. The discovery, says the firm, could lead to therapeutics and diagnostics strategies for the disease. "The identification of the three narrow loci, which are at least ten times smaller in size than that of regions usually obtained using traditional gene mapping methods demonstrates the power of our technology," says the Paris-based firm's chief scientific officer, Dr Jorg Hager.
