Legislation introduced in the US Senate last week would restore some of the money Medicare uses to adequately reimburse for the costs of new technology used in the outpatient setting. The bill was introduced by Senators Olympia Snowe and Jeff Bingaman on behalf of the nation's hospitals, who complain that Medicare reimbursements have failed to keep up with the cost of outpatient care.
