Executive Summary
Drug-eluting stents and single photo-electron computed tomography (SPECT) are among the topics that the UK Department of Health has confirmed it has referred to the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) for appraisal. This seventh work programme also include percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, as proposed for consultation last February (see Clinica No 997, p 7). Woundcare management and the diagnosis of tuberculosis are among the topics being referred to NICE as part of its clinical guidelines programme.
