Last week's Pan Arab cancer congress hosted in Doha, Qatar, by the Qatar National Cancer Society (QNCS), concluded with a call for a more comprehensive approach to early detection, therapy and rehabilitation of patients. Delegates to the conference, which was attended by over 500 doctors from the Arab world, as well as experts from the US and Europe, heard that more interaction was needed between Arab states to control the disease. Proposals were also put forward to increase co-operation between Arab states and countries that were more advanced in cancer treatment.
