UK boosts effort to promote access to EU R&D (research and development) funding

The UK government has launched a programme to help industry benefit from the EU's Framework Programme, which promotes technological R&D and international competitiveness. The EU's sixth budget (FP6), which covers the period 2002-06, is worth E17.5bn ($20bn). FP6UK will effectively co-ordinate access to the UK's existing network of information and promotion offices, known as National Contact Points (NCPs).
