Executive Summary
Start-up firm, Hunter Urology, has gained the green light to market in Europe a disposable, antimicrobial-coated, urinary catheter for use in patients with neuropathic bladder. Such patients need to self-catheterise, typically around every three to four hours, in order to empty their bladder. The coating, called antibac, was licensed exclusively from US firm AST Products and is intended to prevent the onset of bacterial infection of the urinary tract.
