Executive Summary
The University of Ulm in Germany has received E11.5 million ($10 million) to establish a life sciences centre with a view to setting up a stem cell research unit. 20 departments from five faculties at the university produced a proposal under the general heading: the "Zyto-Organo-Poese" of regenerative cell and organ therapy. "This is a manufactured work, but roughly translated it means the creation of organs from cells, or tissue engineering," explains Peter Pietschmann, spokesperson for the University.
