Executive Summary
A recent study has shown that the treatment of chronic pain is not properly addressed in the new German diagnosis related groups system for hospital reimbursement, delegates to the German Pain Congress were told last week in Munster. Some 4,000 patients from 14 hospitals were included in the study, which was sponsored by the German society for the study of pain (DGSS), the German interdisciplinary association for pain therapy (DIVS) and the German society for anaesthesiology and intensive medicine (DGAI).
