Waning but dormant SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) still a priority:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

The global spread of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) may be waning, but the World Health Organization (WHO) remains on guard, amid concerns that the disease might return with a vengeance later this year. Such was the consensus among the 800 experts gathered at last week's SARS summit in Malaysia. The development of a viable diagnostic test remains a priority. As Clinica went to press on Wednesday June 25, the number of cases worldwide stood at 8,460, with 810 deaths. The most recent cases were reported in Canada and the US.
