The US Society of Nuclear Medicine (Reston, Virginia) has appointed Peter Conti as vice-president elect. Dr Conti, who currently serves as chairman of California-based Molecular Imaging's medical advisory board, will begin his term at the end of June and finish in June 2004, when he will assume the vice-presidency for a year before becoming president in 2005.
