Brazil toughens healthcare project protocols:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Brazil is seeking to better regulate the construction and equipping of all healthcare infrastructure projects. Proposals being considered include ensuring that all public- and private-sector projects are fully approved by such bodies, at national or municipal level, before construction begins. The planning, assessment and approval of such projects needs to be fully regulated by healthcare surveillance bodies, the national agency, Anvisa, states in a consultation document issued on April 22 2003. If the draft is approved, the departments responsible in this area will be required to meet the new regulations within 180 days of their enactment.
