The European Commission's Communication of the five-year review of the Medical Devices Directive should be formally adopted early-to-mid June. The text of the Communication is currently being translated and is due to be returned to the medical devices unit by May 26 prior to formal adoption. Formal presentation by Enterprise Commissioner Erkki Liikanen is expected by mid-June.
