The Brazilian health surveillance agency, Anvisa, has launched a survey of the network of pathology laboratories that perform tests for the labour market. The aim of the exercise is to establish standards for the accreditation of laboratories and their inclusion in the national network of healthcare laboratories - Rede Brasileira de Laboratorios Analiticos de Saude (Reblas). The survey will look at the testing performed by each laboratory, the technology used and quality assurance systems in place. The deadline for submission of data with the Brasilia-based Anvisa is June 23 2003.
