Executive Summary
GE Medical Systems (GEMS) has introduced a mobile configuration of its Innova 2000 all-digital cardiovascular imaging system. The company, which received US clearance for the product earlier this year, said the mobile design would make the technology more accessible to patients with cardiovascular disease. The Innova system uses a cardiovascular flat-panel, amorphous silicon detector to provide a fully digital imaging chain. It allows cardiologists to view hard-to-see blood vessels, as well as devices used during interventional procedures such as stents, guide wires and catheters. Some 400 Innova 2000 systems are already installed in hospitals worldwide, says GEMS.
