Danish institute launches routine Mycoplasma genitalium test

Executive Summary

The Danish State Serum Institute (SSI) has become the first laboratory institution in Denmark to offer a routine test for the sexually transmitted disease, Mycoplasma genitalium. Diagnosis is carried out by using a standard PCR test that includes an internal control for inhibition and a confirmatory assay for all positive specimens, said J-rgen Skov Jensen, a departmental researcher at SSI.
