Executive Summary
Spain has begun to build the national cardiovascular research centre (CNIC). The E31.5m ($35m) complex will be based on the Chamartin (Madrid) campus of the Carlos III healthcare institute. It will cover an area of 23,000m2, of which more than 14,000m2 will be laboratory and technical areas equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, says the health ministry.
