Executive Summary

Merge eFilm plans to enhance its offering of radiology information and picture archiving and communication system (RIS/PACS) tools by incorporating software developed by AccuImage Diagnostics. It has agreed to acquire the South San Francisco firm for $6m in a deal slated for closure in the first quarter of 2005. Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based Merge sells software and services to imaging centres and small to medium-sized hospitals and clinics. AccuImage creates advanced visualisation tools to improve analysis and management of medical imaging data like lung nodules, CT angiography and virtual colonoscopy.
