Executive Summary
As Clinica went to press, the UK's Institute of Quality Assurance was on the point of launching a new company membership scheme to build greater awareness of international quality practices in small to medium-sized companies (SMEs). The organisation became active in the medical device arena some 18 months ago with the launch of its Medical Device Quality Group, but will offer a series of practical business tools, including networking opportunities, seminars and access to its resources and expertise. Frank Steer, the director general of IQA, notes that some SMEs spend 30 hours per month just dealing with regulatory compliance. "Quality professionals need to be pragmatic and help these organisations develop a quality culture that generates smart solutions," he says. For further information contact: [email protected]
