Germany pours funds into China's AIDS fight

Executive Summary

In a move that will further strengthen Sino-German ties, the German government has agreed to donate Euros7m ($9.3m) to help China's western region fight the AIDS epidemic. It is also reported that the area - noted for its economic and structural underdevelopment - will receive an additional loan of E42.4m from Germany to support the construction of hospitals and disease control centres in this region.
