Franklin Lakes, New Jersey-based Becton Dickinson has elected Gary Mecklenburg to its board of directors. The appointment brings the medtech company's board members to 13. Mr Mecklenburg is president and CEO of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. Additionally, Harry Becton has been named lead director of the board, effective February 1 2005. Mr Becton, a member of the board since 1987, succeeds Frank Olson, who will be retiring after 20 years of service.
