Executive Summary
The October 1 deadline by which all French private healthcare general medicine and obstetrics facilities were meant to have introduced new accounting procedures has not been met. The government failed to make available in time the list of charges which would allow these facilities to introduce diagnosis-related group accounting methods whereby hospitals are paid a set sum based on the average costs of treating a given condition. It seems that the list of tariffs may not be available until December.
